最全2016普利策获奖名单：美主流媒体分食主要奖项

作为最重要的奖项之一的公共服务奖，第52次颁发给了美联社。其对东南亚渔业奴工现象的深入报道而获得该奖。其开创性的新闻系列报道“海鲜业的奴隶”暴露了东南亚地区的捕鱼业中常见的虐待劳工现象和不人道的做法。新闻发布以后，2000多名“奴隶”被释放，几十名相关人士被拘捕，行业改革和变革也随之来临。

负责该新闻的四名记者是美联社亚洲地区的作家和2009尼曼研究员玛吉•梅森，缅甸记者罗宾•麦克道尔，国家一级作家玛莎•门多萨和缅甸记者埃丝特。

凭借建立一个包含990次警方枪击事件细节的数据库，并涵盖警方枪击致死案件的频次和原因，《华盛顿邮报》展现了新闻报道可能有的创造力，获得“国内新闻报道奖”。

《洛杉矶时报》凭借其对加州圣伯纳迪诺枪击案以及反恐调查的报道，获得了“突发新闻报道奖”。

《纽约时报》的报道通过揭露了阿富汗妇女遭遇的虐待和不公，从而获得“国际新闻报道奖”。此外，4名《纽约时报》的摄影记者也凭借对逃亡欧洲难民的一系列图片新闻摘得了“突发新闻图片奖”的桂冠。
